Cambodia is a small country surrounded by Vietnam, Thailand and Laos. It is a comparatively new and evolving tourist destination for the Western world. situated on the banks of the Mekong River, the capital Phnom Penh was once considered one of the loveliest French-built cities in Indochina. The city is noted for its beautiful and historical architecture and attractions. One can still see a number of surviving French Colonial buildings scattered in the city.

Like Cambodia, its neighbor Laos also opened its doors the world in recent times. With only 6.8 million population, it has developed fairly quickly to provide the visitor with adequate hotels and infrastructure. Vientiane, the laid-back capital is situated on the banks of the Mekong River looking across from Thailand, is the site of That Luang, a reliquary reportedly housing the Buddha’s breastbone, plus the Patuxai war memorial and Talat Sao (Morning Market), a shopping complex jammed with food, clothes and craft stalls.
